Government Banned lots of Apps-Full list

Google Play Store removes all Chinese apps India banned -nooobsnet

PUBG Mobile is the latest app that the Indian government has banned in a fresh blow to Chinese apps. The latest list of apps includes a total of 118 apps including some popular ones such as the Apus Launcher Pro and AppLock but interestingly, it also includes VPN for TikTok apps that people have used to circumvent the ban on the popular app TikTok after it was knocked down a few weeks back. The latest move highlights the scrutiny under which the government has put India's app domain.

In a release, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology said: "The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has received many complaints from various sources including several reports about the misuse of some mobile apps available on Android and iOS platforms for stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users’ data in an unauthorized manner to servers which have locations outside India." The reason that the government has given this time is similar to what it said when it banned TikTok and 58 other apps in the first wave.

Interestingly, PUBG is not a part of the list of banned apps, rightly so because it belongs to a South Korean developer while PUBG Mobile is owned by Tencent, which is one of the colossuses of China. Ever since India banned 59 Chinese apps a few months back, the speculation has been strong that PUBG Mobile should not be allowed to operate any longer in India.

PUBG Mobile has often been criticized for its violent nature that has been cited as a reason behind the surge in suicides and murders among teens of India. Previously, PUBG Mobile had caused teens to spend lakhs of money on in-game purchases. Two teenage boys in Punjab had spent up to Rs 16 lakh, belonging to their families, in different incidents.
